My novel, Desert Medicine, is still under review at HarperSanFrancisco, where it's been since May 2. Here's the
latest email from the editor (received June 12, 2001):
Hi Judy- Just wanted to give you an update. I am enjoying DESERT MEDICINE
very much and hope to be able to formally present it to my colleagues soon. Unfortunately, the agenda for our weekly acquisitions meeting has been filled for today's meeting, and next week has been postponed due to colleagues' travel schedules. I appreciate your patience (I know how taxing this sort of waiting can be) but if you can hold on for another 2 weeks, I'll be able to give you a more official update (and let's keep our fingers crossed that that meeting will go extremely well!). Thanks again for your patience. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
While waiting on HarperSanFrancisco, I've been trying to obtain an agent (since
January of this year, 13 prospective agents have declined). Number 14 seems like she might be a good fit. She and I have been playing phone tag for two days. I hope to find out soon what she thinks about the manuscript.
Keep your creativity flowing! Love, Judy
