The Novel

Published by Kregel Publications, Desert Medicine tells of a newly divorced young mother of twins who runs a plant nursery in Orange County. She discovers the true meaning of family and grows spiritually while helping an eccentric older woman from her church. This colorful woman relates her own feisty search for family, beginning as an abused girl in 1930s Panhandle, Texas, who is sent to live in border town Calexico, California, with a maiden aunt who runs a home hospital.

The Author

Judy Alexander is a freelance writer, professional photographer, and adjunct writing professor at Concordia University in Irvine. She holds an MBA degree from UCI. Judy is the author of Desert Medicine, a novel published by Kregel Publications. Her fiction has also been published in Pacific Review, Pleiades Magazine, and Concho River Review. The mother of two sons, Judy lives in Santa Ana, California, with her husband Gene Alexander.
